You must earn five continuing education credits (CEUs) during your accumulation period to maintain your NCVE. Each time you recertify, your NCVE is valid for another two year period during which you would need to obtain five CEUs in order to maintain your NCVE designation. Your accumulation period begins on the first of January of the year after you passed the exams. For example, if you passed your exams in 2015 your accumulation period would be January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017.
Easily maintain your NCVE designation by attending designated NAFCU conference sessions and/or webcasts. A number of NAFCU education programs qualify for education credits towards your NCVE recertification, including:
NAFCU webcasts and conference sessions that qualify for credits will be marked with the NCVE logo.
CEUs can be earned by attending a non-NAFCU conference, event, or webcast, so long as the program is educational in nature and focuses on credit union board or supervisory committee topics. A total of .5 CEU is credited for each 30-minute increment of training. There is a $5 fee per .5 CEU earned.
